ACTIVATING LAUNCH SEQUENCE IN 3.. 2..1
frickin’ horses man
These are awesome Sun!!!
Best ways to know horses is to go and look at them and feel their muscles and how they are shaped, in all seriouslyness.
Also, tracing… They are not easy to draw… they are actually kinda freaking weird if you really stop to think about their anatomy… LOL!
Sooooo you could come visit in Alberta! … or you could find stables in Van.
I’ve been listening to the radio show (sitcom) “Cabin Pressure”, and I love it so much I’ve been drawing the characters. Martin is a pilot that’s supposed to not look like pilot, which is hard to envision when he’s so bent on wearing his uniform and being professional. In my head he looks like an old-school milkman or delivery guy. He gets angry and frustrated a lot.
I’ve finished 3 series of the show (out of 4) and so far he’s my favorite, but honestly, all four of the main characters are my favorite.
Aw ya! Cabin Pressure!!
Oh, right. The 10K. The 10K for Disneyland, the 10K chosen especially to run around Disneyland, Disneyland’s 10K.
So I’ve put this up on my dA already but I thought I would post it here because the world needs more Redcoat West, let’s be honest.
Anyway, my entry for natasplund's Redcoat West Contest. It was a blast to draw which probably means there'll be more fanart of them sooner or later lol
So the contest has come to a close!
It’s been a great turnout! Thank you all who entered and shared! I’m hoping to have the Chapter 1 Book for sale online within a week or two! Chapter 2 is in the process of being scripted and boarded out! Exciting! I’m hoping to have it on a regular updating schedule by the end of the fall!
I will be be going through entries and getting some other judges and should have the results for the contest by the end of this week or the beginning of next!
I want to thank EVERYONE for their amazing enteries! I’m so excited that RcW has such creative and talented fans! You guys rock!
As a thank you for entering, I will be sending you a final draft of the script for Chapter 2 to all those that submitted an entry!! So you will get a sneak peak for the next chapter! yay!
Thank you again! I hope you all have a great rest-of-your long weekend!
IF! I have forgotten your entry PLEASE forgive me! I tried to get them all and may have missed it. I tried to follow my notes/emails/and tags.
I have re-blogged the tumblr versions of the submissions that were uploaded here :D
An Alberta police horse admiring the sunset whilst its rider Jasper relaxes and practices his best Thoughtful Serious Expression (TM).The flowers are Great Blanket Flowers and White Heath Asters, they are to best of my knowledge native to Canada.
An entry for Redcoat West chapter one contest a fellow webcomic enthusiast natasplund is running!
Whatever’s happened, it’s like I’ve landed on a different planet. Now, maybe if I can work out the reason, I can get home.
I’ve been meaning to make this joke for ages! If you don’t get it you might have missed out on the two best shows I know.
An entry for the Redcoat West webcomic contest!
Samuel Banks having a rough ride on scout duty, somewhere along the Alberta foothills. I picked Sam because I really like his character design and his appearance in the comic so far! I imagined the mounted police had to cover a tough range of terrain back in the 1880s, but I was also hugely influenced by amazing photos of endurance horse riding.
And I wonder if Samuel will turn out to be a minor villain because of nothing much being known about him, or if he’ll be one of those guys who kinda keep quiet about themselves but are helpful to other folks.
